SculpSure is virtually pain-free and has only a few minor side effects. A small percentage of patients may experience slight swelling, tingling, or redness in the treatment area — these side effects will resolve themselves in a few hours. A vast majority of patients will experience no pain or have any visible signs of treatment.  Patients can resume all normal activities immediately after the treatment. There is no recovery time.

What Risks Are Involved With SculpSure?

SculpSure is a non-invasive procedure that doesn’t require any incisions or anesthesia. Without needles or any instruments breaching the skin, there’s no risk of infection. There are also no concerns about reactions to anesthesia, either local or general, since SculpSure doesn’t require patients to use it as there is no pain during treatment.

Patients with a history of skin cancer, HIV, or nerve problems may require additional evaluation before proceeding with SculpSure. Some research has linked the use of lasers with cancer in certain types of skin conditions. You should also make sure your doctor removes any questionable lesion on the skin around the treatment area before proceeding with SculpSure.

Are There Long-Term Effects of SculpSure?

A frequent question with SculpSure is whether the fat cells will grow back. The answer is no.  Fat cells do not regenerate.  When those fat cells are gone, they don’t come back.  SculpSure destroys 20-25% of the fat cells in the treatment area per session.  Multiple sessions may be needed to achieve the desired results.

After SculpSure treatments, it’s still possible to gain weight. SculpSure doesn’t affect your caloric intake or your body’s ability to gain weight. If you gain weight, the remaining fat cells in the treated area will increase in size. If this happens, it’s possible the lumps or rolls you had removed will return.  However, it’s not because the dead cells regenerated.

The body does have memory and has favorite areas to store fat.  Although there will be fewer fat cells in those problem areas after the SculpSure treatment, the remaining fat cells will act the same as they always had.  If the treated area is where your weight is most noticeable, weight gain will likely diminish the results you achieved with SculpSure.
