Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon for mixing
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Serving glasses or bowls
  • Refrigerator for chilling

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk or any plant-based milk of choice
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup optional, depending on sweetness preference
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Sliced bananas and dark chocolate shavings for garnish optional

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, chia seeds, almond milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
  • Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, then stir again to prevent clumping of chia seeds.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, until the pudding thickens to desired consistency.
  • Once chilled and set, give the pudding a final stir to break up any clumps and ensure a smooth texture.
  • Divide the chocolate banana chia pudding into serving glasses or bowls.
  • Garnish with sliced bananas and dark chocolate shavings if desired.
  • Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra richness, you can substitute part of the almond milk with coconut milk.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup according to taste preference.
  • Experiment with toppings like shredded coconut, chopped nuts, or fresh berries for added flavor and texture.
  • Leftover pudding can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
