Austin Bohn is a Physician Assistant with a background in emergency medicine, physical therapy, and sports medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before completing his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Drury University in Missouri.
Before becoming a PA, Austin worked as an EMT and emergency department technician, gaining experience caring for patients with a broad range of acute and medical conditions. His earlier experience in physical therapy and subsequent training in sports medicine developed a particular interest in musculoskeletal health, injury management, and helping patients return to the activities they enjoy.
Austin believes primary care should extend beyond treating illness to helping patients build healthier lives and maximize their long-term health and longevity. He enjoys helping patients make sustainable changes involving exercise, nutrition, sleep, and other aspects of wellness. He also values procedures and the opportunity to provide patients with practical, hands-on treatment when appropriate. His approach centers on shared decision-making, with patients taking an active role in their health while he serves as a resource and partner in their care.
Outside of medicine, Austin enjoys strength training, mountain biking, snowboarding, and pickleball. He has spent much of his life in the mountains around Lake Tahoe and enjoys staying active and outdoors whenever possible.
