Lara grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature with a minor in Communications from Santa Clara University. After working in the non-profit sector, she decided to fulfill her lifelong passion and pursue a career in medicine. Following her post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Mills College in Oakland, California, Lara went on to complete her Physician Assistant Program and Master of Science at Rutgers University. After working at an urgent care/primary care practice in New Jersey, she and her husband moved to Sacramento, California to be closer to family in the Bay Area.

Lara is a board certified Physician Assistant in the state of California. She believes in treating the patient as a whole and her focus is on preventive care. Providing a positive experience where each patient is empowered about their health is the goal of every visit.

Lara loves being outdoors and is an avid runner, having just completed her sixth marathon. You can find her spending time with her husband and four young children at various parks or at one of their many sports activities. Spending time with family and friends is an important part of Lara’s life and she believes that you should wake up every morning and do what makes you happy. A happy life is a healthy life!
