Lara grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a minor in Communications from Santa Clara University. After working in the non-profit sector for a few years, she decided that she wanted to fulfill her lifelong passion and pursue a career in medicine. After attending a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Mills College in Oakland, California, Lara went on to complete her Physician Assistant Program and Master of Science at Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey. After working for one year in an urgent care/primary care practice in New Jersey, she and her husband moved to Sacramento to be closer to her family in the Bay Area.
Lara is a board certified Physician Assistant in the state of California. She believes in treating the patient as a whole and her focus in on preventive care. Providing a positive experience where each patient is empowered about their health is the goal of every visit.
Lara loves being outdoors and you can find her out hiking or at the local park with her husband and 3 children. She and her family enjoy trying new restaurants or getting fresh ingredients from the local farmer’s market to try new recipes. Spending time with family friends is an important part of Lara’s life and she believes that you should wake up every morning and do what makes you happy. A happy life is a healthy life!
