Halo Top Ice Cream

halo top ice creams

I have been seeing ads all over the internet on this new “healthy” brand of ice cream so I finally decided to give it a try for myself!  The brand name is Halo Top.  They have several flavors of low calorie, high protein, low sugar, low carb ice creams, and most are gluten free as well.  They are sold in pints (4 serving cartons) and each serving has somewhere between 60 and 90 calories (for a half cup serving).  I was hesitant to try it at first because I have tried Arctic Zero a few times before, which is another low calorie, low carb ice cream, and I was disappointed with Arctic Zero because it was icy and did not have a lot of flavor.  So I didn’t have high hopes for Halo Top but I happened to see it on sale one day and decided to give it a try.  I bought the lemon cake flavor, which for ½ cup serving has: 60 calories, 1.5g fat, 4g NET carbs, 3g fiber, 4g sugar, 6g protein.  They use stevia (an all-natural calorie-free sweetener) to sweeten their ice cream.  I loved it!  There are, of course mixed reviews online on all of the flavors, but I thought it was creamy (rather than the icy Arctic Zero)  and had a great creamy lemon flavor.  I am really excited to try out the other flavors!  They also have chocolate, vanilla bean, strawberry, cookie dough, red velvet, mint chip, pistachio, oatmeal cookie, chocolate almond crunch, black cherry, sea salt caramel, peanut butter cup, cookies and cream, smore’s, birthday cake, and chocolate mocha chip.  Like I said, some have more calories than others but they all fall under 90 calories per serving which is still great compared to other ice creams! Here is a nutritional comparison to some other ice creams:halo vs ben an jerryshalo vs. dryers

As you can see it has much better nutritional stats than other ice creams.  Anyway, I just wanted to share my discovery of this ice cream with everyone because I love ice cream, and I especially love ice cream when I can eat it without feeling guilty afterwards!
