Who Qualifies For COVID Vaccines Now

We are excited to notify you that starting March 15, patients between 16-64 years with high-risk medical conditions will be able to get the COVID vaccines.  According to the California Department of Public Health, a verification documentation of the high-risk diagnosis is NOT REQUIRED.  You will be asked to sign a self-attestation that you meet the criteria for high-risk medical conditions or disabilities.  Below is the list of qualifying conditions and you can see your medical condition on your MyHillChart.

  • Cancer, current with weakened immune system
  • Chronic kidney disease, stage 4 or above
  • Chronic pulmonary disease, oxygen dependent
  • Down syndrome
  • Solid organ transplant, leading to a weakened immune system
  • Pregnancy
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies (but not hypertension)
  • Severe obesity (Body Mass Index = 40 kg/m2):
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus with hemoglobin A1c level greater than 7.5%:  (Type 1 Diabetes does not qualify)
  • If as a result of a developmental or other severe high-risk disability one or more of the following applies
    • The individual is likely to develop severe life-threatening illness or death from COVID-19 infection
    • Acquiring COVID-19 will limit the individual’s ability to receive ongoing care or services vital to their well-being and survival
    • Providing adequate and timely COVID care will be particularly challenging as a result of the individual’s disability

If you do not qualify right now, we are sorry that we can not override the decision of CDC. We highly recommend you to enroll in MYTURN so you will get notified by CDC when your turn is up alone with where you can get the vaccines near your house.
